The HWA SUNG COUPLING COMPANY is the coupling manufacturer in Korea.It was established in 1980 and provided Grid (Non Taper) type, Disc Flex type, Flange Flex type, Rubber type and Chain type coupling to POSCO and steel manufacturer, Hyundai, Samsung, and other such heavy industry, power plants, paper mills and cement producers.In 1983, we invented a tooth cutting machine for the manufacturing of the Taper Grid coupling. It was the same dimension with “FALK” so that we could provide couplings to the WELLMAN BIBBY CO in the United Kingdom. In America HWA SUNG provided the Taper Grid Couplings to the KOP-FLEX, EPT in 1993.The HWA SUNG company also distributed the Gear couplings to Mitsubushi, Sumitomo,Hitachi, and other heavy industrial companies of Japan. Distribution of the product was successful though the company’s technical association with the KYUSHU HASEC .co also in Japan.In 1987, Hwa Sung’s Taper Grid Coupling and Gear coupling obtained the KS(Korea Standard)mark which is authorized by the department of Industry and Trade of Korea.In 1991, Hwa Sung developed the Wire Drum coupling (Malmedi Type in Germany) with Korea heavy Industry and Construction Co.LTD which is used in container crane and overhead crane and now is used in the container crane of Pusan port (Korea) and Singapore port.In 1997, Hwa sung contracted an agreement to supp;y and market Disc Brake with TWI-FLEX co. in the United Kingdom. Hwa sung held contract for Universal Joint with Gewes co. in Germany, to supply marketing in Korea.Currently we are working on an agreement with SEW-EURODRIVE and AMERIDRIVE.
